Picture Books to Play With

COURSE FULL
Tuesday 19 April 10-12pm

Tutor: Rose Feather

Free, two hour creative writing and book making session for adults, focused on making stories that children will love.

We will explore what makes a story come to life, before creating our own stories through simple book-making and zine-making techniques. Rose will also share how to embed speech and language development opportunities through creative book-sharing ideas.

Perfect for parents, carers, grandparents, aunties, uncles or friends to little ones who are 5 and under. This session would also be useful for people who work with under 5s.
This course works as a one-of session, or could be used as a taster session for the free, 5 week course on developing your stories into professionally printed picture books.

Please be aware that while we love skills sharing, these events are restricted to residents living in the Norwich City Council's boundary only. If you are not sure, you can check it here: www.gov.uk/find-local-council

Five week course

Tutor:
Rose Feather

A free, five-week course in creative writing and illustration for adults, working towards creating a
professionally printed picture book for a specific child or group of children.
We will develop skills in story-telling, illustration, narrative and composition, with a focus on embedding opportunities for speech and language development for the young readers. After the last week, Rose will pull together your writing, design and illustrations into print-ready books, and you will receive three copies in the post to share.

Perfect for parents, carers, grandparents, aunties, uncles or friends to little ones who are 5 and under.
This
session would also be useful for people who work with under 5s, or who are starting out in their journey
becoming a picture book maker.

Please be aware that while we love skills sharing, these events are restricted to residents living in the Norwich City Council's boundary only. If you are not sure, you can check it here: www.gov.uk/find-local-council

Mindful Paper Making

Monday 23rd May 2022, 2-4.30pm

Tutor: Rachel Burchell

A chance to take some time out and make room for a little self-care with this mindful paper making workshop.

We’ll start with a saunter and stroll around the locality gathering items and inspiration for our paper making; then settle down to create unique paper using natural and leftover materials.  Finally, we’ll make an accordion-fold book with pockets to hold our paper for when it’s dried.

Please be aware that while we love skills sharing, these events are restricted to residents living in the Norwich City Council's boundary only. If you are not sure, you can check it here: www.gov.uk/find-local-council
