Drawing for Beginners
Tutor: Hannelore Smith Wednesdays - 6 weeks Proposed new start date 18th May 2021 10.00 - 12.30 Course cost: £105 (including materials) Week by week you will develop your observational drawing skills. You will explore the formal elements and use a range of traditional and non-traditional drawing media. You will respond to different subject matter including nature, man made, architecture and the self portrait. By the end of the course, you will have developed a toolkit of approaches that you can use independently and built a portfolio of drawings that can be used a stimulus for further creative activities. Students who complete this course may wish to continue onto Art Direction. |
Introduction to Life Drawing
Tutor: Hannelore Smith 6 weeks, Wednesday mornings, 10 - 12 noon ***New Dates to be announced soon*** Course Cost: £95.00 (including basic materials) Using the human form you will develop your observational drawing, visual communication and media manipulation skills. Through a range of media you will explore, composition, line, form, mark making, colour and tone. You will be guided in the application of proportion, perspective, weight, balance and measuring. Weekly activities will build skill and confidence and introduce you to various themes using the figure throughout 20th century art.

Drawing from the Figure
with Frances Martin Fridays - returning from 21 May 2021 (Courses for this term are currently full but you can join a waiting list - contact details below) Morning session - 9.30am - 12 noon Afternoon session - 13.00pm - 15.30pm Over the sessions we will be working from models, with suggestions for work in both b/w and colour drawing media. The course is open to all levels of experience with tailored tutoring in a small group. Timing: 10am - 4pm With almost 5 hours of drawing time! (including a lunch hour and short breaks) Cost: £32 per session Over these days we will be drawing or painting from a clothed model, with one seated pose. A wonderful opportunity to have a prolonged chance to work from the figure, to create one work or a series of drawings. You are welcome to have a whole body, or portrait focus! The course is open to all levels of experience with tailored tutoring in a small group. Please contact Frances directly to enquire About Frances Martin Frances graduated from Wolverhampton University with a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art in 1990. After finishing her degree, Frances travelled and lived abroad for 5 years, gaining her teaching qualification (PGCE) from the University of Greenwich in 1997. She has taught art at a range of ages, levels and abilities, with a recent focus on expressive drawing from the figure. Frances works from her Norwich studio with drawing and painting media to portray the human form in various stages of emotion. She has exhibited in group and solo shows in Norwich and London. |
