Watercolours & Pen: Rainbow Zentangles

Chill out and you lose yourself in the zentangle zone. Using watercolours and fineliner pens, in this 3hr workshop you'll be led through the meditative process of zentangling - that's drawing and shading lines, curves and dots in particular ways to create beautiful patterns - on a rainbow background. The process is gently relaxing and mindful, nourishing the mind and spirit during the deep focus of drawing, and you will take away a new technique to use again and again, as well as intricate, unique artworks to keep forever.

Watercolour Workshop: The Holly and the Ivy Christmas Cards

Take a moment, grab a mince pie, relax and create beautiful one-of-a-kind festive cards for your nearest and dearest. Using a range of watercolour techniques and a Christmas greenery theme, in this 3 hr workshop you will design and paint up to six cards to send beautiful, extra special handmade Christmas wishes to those you love.
All materials for six cards included- more cards can be purchased on the day if required.
Watercolour Workshop: Twelve days of Christmas Victorian Puzzle Purse

Make and paint an unique and personalised novelty gift for someone special this Christmas. Using watercolours, fineliner pens and paper-folding, in this 3 hr workshop you will learn how to fold the purse then design and decorate it themed around the traditional 12 Days of Christmas song. Originally sent as love tokens or containing secret messages, each fold of this beautiful, handmade puzzle purse reveals a new picture or message.
All materials (and a mince pie) included.

This tutored workshop is ideal for beginners or people who are nervous about trying painting in watercolours. In a friendly, relaxed atmosphere we will have a go at different ways to apply paint using a range of methods, papers and brushes.
This 2.5 hour workshop will be packed with straightforward explanations and fun exercises, and the opportunity to create your own mini masterpiece using the techniques you've learned. You'll leave brimming with confidence and enthusiasm for the gentle medium of watercolours.
Everything you need for the workshop will be provided, but if you have your own materials, you're welcome to bring them along.
Get Started with Watercolours 2

This tutored workshop is an ideal follow-on from ‘Get Started with Watercolours 1’ or would be great for people who already paint but want to gain confidence. Building on the basics and in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere we will take our time to create two slightly more challenging paintings- a seascape and a landscape – each with stress-free, step by step guidance.
This 2.5 hour workshop will be packed with straightforward explanations tailored to your needs. You'll leave with two unique paintings and feeling inspired to paint even more.
Everything you need for the workshop will be provided, but if you have your own materials, you're welcome to bring them along.
Get Started with Oils

This tutored painting class is ideal for beginners or people who are nervous about trying oil painting. In a friendly, relaxed atmosphere we will take the mystery out of the materials and equipment used in oil painting, try out simple colour-mixing and have a go at different ways to apply paint using a range of methods.
This 2.5 hour workshop will be packed with straightforward explanations and fun exercises, and the opportunity to create your own mini Monet masterpiece using the techniques you've learned. You'll leave brimming with confidence and enthusiasm for the wonderful, adaptable medium of oil paints.

Modern Masters Acrylics Course

In each 2.5 hour session you will explore the work and techniques of a painter from a different modern art movement: Monet- Impressionism, Van Gogh- Post-Impressionism, Modigliani- Expressive Primitivism, and Picasso- Cubism. Using acrylic paints and mediums in a series of fun, guided exercises, you will try out their methods and produce your own painting inspired by their work.
Led by experienced art teacher and former museum educator Rachel Duffield, this course not only offers a supportive and practical learning environment, it also gives a glimpse of how the world each painter inhabited, informed their work.
All abilities welcome.
