Jeremy Webb

Jeremy Webb is well-known in photography circles for his uncompromising and independent approach, and an ability to explore numerous subjects and themes in depth. His work has taken him across the world on assignments while working commercially; shooting stock photography across Europe, expedition photography in Tanzania, and cruise ship photography based in Florida, USA, amongst many other commissions.

He currently runs an art-based practice focussed on contemporary approaches to still life, figurative & portrait, documentary, camera-less photography and a wide-ranging approach to the natural landscape documenting the Norfolk Coast.

He’s been published by the BBC, Bloomsbury Publishing, the British Journal of Photography, and numerous publications & exhibitions and sells his work as editioned prints to clients in North America. Much of his landscape work is sold through the Millennium Agency, and both his books; Creative Vision (2005), and Design Principles (2nd ed. 2020) have been well received; becoming mainstays on the required reading lists of many North American universities.

Jeremy is also a semi-professional life model who enjoys working with artists of all kinds. His life modelling, teaching, mentoring, and writing – alongside private & public photography commissions – fund the time he needs to keep creating fresh and innovative work for publication. Passing on his passion for the medium to others is his most rewarding and motivating stage in his career to date.

If you're staycationing in Norwich in early August and looking for something fun, educational, and practical to enjoy, join up with this little group and improve your photography over 5 days. You’ll be learning professional hacks and tips, the art of lighting and exposure control, and with fun assignments to take part in, and share as a group. Participants will be able to use professional studio equipment and also be shown innovative apps & techniques with iPhone photography as well as digital capture and film-based photography if required.

Artists might (for example) shoot a compelling self-portrait or profile portrait for promotion or social media updating, learn how to document their practice, photograph their artworks for gallery & exhibition submissions, or learn practical photography and lighting skills and focus on their professional development. How might you extend your photography skills and interests?

Students will be able to work collaboratively, or individually. Days 4 & 5 are more open to individual requirements & needs OR feature further skills-building & mentoring on a more personal and individual level. Get a head start on the year ahead. Above all else, this is a hands-on, practical, skills-building course that packs a lot of value and fun for a small group of keen photographers.
