Mixed Media Flowers
17th November 2024 1.00pm - 3.30pm £25 Looking for a project which unleashes your imagination with intensely colourful results? Then this mixed media work workshop will be perfect for you. You will be playing with lost of colours and patterns, overlapping funky detailed collage papers with expressive acrylic brushstrokes which provokes curiosity and imagination, formulating exotic and imaginative artworks with a contemporary edge. The session aims to support the development of observational drawing, colour and pattern contrast along with a sense of experimentation and fun, allowing students to create visually stunning artworks which inspire a passion for art and opens their imagination to a whole new world. Pen and Wash Boats

Build-up core drawing/colour mixing skills in this easy going workshop, where students will explore and investigate how to create balance and harmony between sweeps of delicate watercolours and accurate crisp fine lines. The session will focus attention on how to draw a variety of boats, allowing students to explore and investigate the basic layering of the mediums creating classical artworks to be proud of. 19th January 2025 1.00pm - 3.30pm £25 Tutor: kimberley bevan Would you like to learn more about art history? Exploring and investigating the artist's life while having fun re-creating their iconic artworks. This special Arts History collection of Artpocket workshops aims to do just that. This workshop examines the life and work of Van Gogh, providing students with context and narratives which inform and support multiple skills from mark making to colour theory. Working in acrylics student will progress into re-creating some of his historical artworks known from his later years of his life, building core drawing and painting skills. Over the coming months we have some exciting and alternative Art History projects which will expand your knowledge of artists that have inspired the world. Hockney's return to Yorkshire in 2000, ignited a whole different dimension to his work. Bold colours, and exciting rhythmic roads bring a different perception of the British countryside, drawing in the viewer and taking them through a kooky and unique joy ride. Working in Oil Pastles student will delve into his work, re-creating some of his much loved and imaginative Landscapes, while having fun building up layers of colour to construct striking and visually powerful artworks. 13th April 2025 1.00pm - 3.30pm £25 Tutor: kimberley bevan The last of an exciting and alternative collection of practical art history workshops we close the selection with one of the most influential artists of the last century. Monet's impact upon the art world still echos in today's most contemporary and cutting edge artworks, his use of light, colour theory and brush marks are as exiting and dynamic as when he originally invoked. Exploring his atmospheric landscapes student will re-create some the alluring paintings of European history. Expanding observational painting skills and pushing colour mixing to the max students will incorporate a mixed media approach, allowing for a whole new colour expression and textual experience. Expressive Ink and Charcoal Animals
13th July 2025 1.00pm - 3.30pm £25 Tutor: kimberley bevan A fun and quirky workshops where students will have fun splashing ink around to create gestural backdrops of movement, then build up accurate and realistic observational drawings, crossing both the contemporary and classical art worlds.
