Taster Sessions & CoursesSample a feast of creative techniques and processes. Our taster sessions are a great introduction for those wanting to dip their fingers in and get a taste for art & craft.
You will have the opportunity to meet other creative people and most of all - have fun! This course is suitable for creative novices, through to creative practitioners who wish to refresh or extend their skills. We have courses running online, from our Norwich studios and on a monthly basis in Sheringham.

Manic Monday-Creative Fix
Begins 22nd Feb 2021(Mondays) 4 weeks, 4-5pm (via Zoom) Individual Session: £7.50 per household Whole Course Cost: £22.50 (includes one session free!!!) Tutor: Hannelore Smith Round off the hardest day of the week in the right way - with a fun creative fix. These sessions are suitable for individuals yearning for something more exciting to happen through their computer screen or homeschooling families that want to have enjoy some stress free creative fun side by side. |
All are most welcome! (suggested age 7+, younger children can of course join in but will need adult support- we insist that all children are supervised throughout the whole session)
Each session you will learn about one or more relevant artists and be guided through a series of creative tasks that will last approximately one hour. All activities are accessible from home- a basic art toolkit will be required ( 2B pencil, biro, charcoal, pastels, coloured pencils, felt pens, drawing paper, paints, card, coloured paper, scissors, masking tape, tin foil)
To enable the session to flow uninterrupted, you may be asked to prepare a couple of things before each session (such as cut paper to the right size)
1: SELFIES: Get to grips with drawing, through a series of fun activities. This is NOT about drawing the perfect self -portrait, but instead capturing an essence of your own image and character. Prepare for laughs!
2: ABSTRACT COLLAGE: Take your scissors for a walk and play with the positive and negative to create images.
3: REFLECTIVE SCULPTURE: Explore turning flat paper into form, draw from your creations and whilst making in small scale - think BIG!
4: MARK MAKING to SOUND: Turn up the volume and explore how sounds can be translated into marks.

- 23/02/21: Gelli plate printing: We love this instantly gratifying image transfer printmaking process - come and create textured, compositional prints onto paper.
- 02/03/21: Bookbinding: (Japanese) Make a hand bound note book, sketchbook or journal using this decorative binding technique.
- 09/03/21: Heat Transfer Printing: Celebrate the vibrant colour and versatility of disperse dyes onto fabric. Explore the positive and negative through resists. Use as inks to draw with.
- 16/03/21: Clay and plaster casting: Embed textures into to clay to create textural plaster casts.
- 23/03/21: Mini Weave: Small but perfectly formed, create a colourful weaving.
