Indian Gypsy nomad embroidery is fascinating, they are colourful, bold and full of great techniques.
In this class you will be learning Gypsy motifs, embroidery techniques including their famous mirror work.

​We will start with an Illustrative talk on Gypsy history followed by demonstration and then guide you through every step of the embroidery technique . You will go back home with an Indian Gypsy motif embroidered by you.

Do you know: Gypsies originated in the Punjab region of northern India as a nomadic people and entered Europe between the eighth and tenth centuries C.E. They were called "Gypsies" because Europeans mistakenly believed they came from Egypt
