Students studying on the Art Direction course explore the theme Above, Beneath, Beyond.

​Something hidden, something obscured, half out of sight, things in between, seen in the distance, unreachable, lurking in the background, between layers, nestled in, buried deep, submerged, concealed, intangible….
 
Whilst there is a common starting point to all this work, the outcomes presented demonstrate a diverse realisation and interpretation of the theme.
 
Imagery explores the inner workings of the mind, the unseen connections and explosions that occur in every instance. By contrast others record the passing of time, how the mind falters and how those connections are sometimes temporarily or permanently lost.
 
Observation and contemplation of a place has led to layered abstract landscapes whilst an interplay between automatic drawing, stitch and paint has created a vertical timeline of the space between activity.
