Impact / Contrast

20th - 23rd June 2017
Yallops Gallery
Norwich

IMPACT
Molly Stanners Putland

Through my illustrations I have explored themes of
gender, identity and narrative. I have created a series
of characters, their back-stories and developed
imagined spaces to communicate the various aspects
of my mind.
The film explores these characters further and
provides the platform in which to develop and
demonstrate my multi-faceted nature.
Through the work I have combined my interests in
music, storytelling and performance.
Foundation Diploma students Ali Page and Molly Stanners Putland present their End of Year show.
CONTRAST
Ali Page

My natural character is to be neat organised and
precise. I am inspired by architecture, brickwork,
buildings and design.
Having visited the Bauhaus Archiv in Berlin I became
inspired by the structures and geometric forms within
their designs.
The large-scale paintings have been created in
response to looking at the reflections of buildings
within the windows of other buildings. These pieces
have informed my subsequent woven work.
The tiny weavings are experimental pieces created
whilst responding to brick patterns found throughout
the city of Norwich and further afield.
