Textiles Project
Monday 11th September - Monday 4th December 2023 (no sessions 9th, 23rd & 30th October) One place left! 10-2, 10 weeks £350 Sheringham - Creative Crafts (Maximum 5 places) Tutor: Hannelore Smith This course is designed to enable students to really get their teeth into a textile project. Working to a given project theme, students will work through the creative process, beginning with gathering visual stimuli through drawing and other research methods. Each week, students will explore one or more textiles techniques and learn how to translate their visual sources into textiles samples. Techniques we will explore include a range of print, dye and stitch methods. Along the way students will be introduced to contemporary textile artists and supported in developing a sketchbook that records and reflects on their personal creative journey. This particular course is not about final outcomes, but instead making a range of responses to an idea/image. By the end of the course, students will have achieved a busy sketchbook and body of textiles samples with potential to be developed further. |
