Basic Pattern Drafting
Tuesday 6th August 2023, 10-4pm Course Cost £55 Age 16+ Tutor: Megan Jones Create a bespoke top pattern to fit your measurements perfectly! Megan will then teach you how to measure and adapt a basic bodice block, and simple ways you can alter this to create your perfect top. Once you have produced your pattern, you will be guided to cut, pin and sew your fabric top. This workshop will allow students to work to their own pace. Due to the smaller group numbers, students will benefit from guided support on an individual basis. Some students may require more time working on their patterns, and therefore may not complete the sewing within the session, however they will be shown how to continue their project at home. All students will go home with a pattern that can be reused and altered to create further garments later. This course would be perfect for beginner to intermediate sewers, who want to learn some pattern drafting skills. You will need to bring 2-3 meters of fabric with matching thread if you wish to make your final top in this session. If you wish to make a sample top, scrap fabric and white thread will be provided. If you already own fabric scissors, a large meter ruler and a pattern master, these may be useful but please don’t go out of your way to buy them. |
