Artpocket student members Hannah Redmayne, Jacqueline Bryony, Rosy Prue, Dominic Potter, Issy Mitchell and Carole Thomas have committed 12 days over 12 weeks to discover and forge their individual creative direction with Artpocket.
Over the Art Direction course the creative cohort have been introduced and reacquainted with a variety of media and materials including drawing, print making, painting, textiles, collage and sculpture. The exhibition captures a snapshot of the portfolios they have developed whilst studying on the course. Each participant came with differing reasons for joining the course such as applying to undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses, to make a commitment to developing their creative practice, taking the plunge to make creative work for the commercial market and to develop confidence in using a range of new media and materials. Through tuition, workshops and critiques student members have gathered a range of skills, both visually and in terms of identifying their creative practice regardless of stage in their career, experience and aims. Art Direction has given them the space, time and support to find their own pathway. |
