Creative work is always in some form of transition and this is what makes making so exciting. Our ideas mutate and adapt depending on the context and what we have been exposed to. The work on display is at a pivotal moment as the students are moving on to new courses, they themselves are in transition, whether they are moving away to study at University or taking the next step in their creative career with us at artpocket.
The end of year show is the culmination of many weeks work with a focus on the students selected theme, the students are encouraged to experiment widely, have a broad approach to gathering creative experiences and responding through different media and techniques. Imagery explores a wide range of themes and ideas such as Human contact and interaction, what it is to be human, understanding the self, sharing the experience of the natural world, the perception of our environment, the transient nature of youth and the journey through different landscapes. |
