'Photo-Synthesis'
photography workshops for artists
|
"As a photographer, I’ve always felt that I have far more in common with drawing and painting artists than I ever had with photographers and their obsessions with megapixels, lenses and endlessly-recycled ideas. Photography is an expressive medium above all else, with an incredible versatility that many are unaware of." |
Jeremy Webb is reintroducing his photography skills workshops for 2023/24, in a reconfigured but highly flexible format for Artpocket.
Jeremy will be focus on how each student can successfully and meaningfully integrate photographic materials, techniques and approaches within their practice, to explore how photography can work for YOU, individually and uniquely.
How can Photography synthesise with your practice?
Jeremy will be drawing on over 30 yrs experience as a professional photographer, from his commercial days in print media & editorial, to his current work as an art-based practitioner, from film technique to digital capture, with extensive experience in publishing, exhibiting, editing, project development, from alternative processes, to his current area of professional development - AI Image-making & Ethics.
Jeremy covers everything, from pinhole to lighting technique, to iPhone-ography to camera-less photography. Maybe you’d like to learn some alternative lighting techniques, create powerful and creative self portraits or profile portraits, go on a location shoot, conceive new sets, series and sequences, or explore water-gramming, seaweed-slapping, photographic decalcomania, or light painting. For Fine Art graduates, these workshops are the perfect fit, and studio space at Artpocket provides the ideal creative playground.
Each workshop will be limited to a small group size of 4 participants. The small group number is ideal creating a productive synergy that generates creativity and inspiration in a way that larger group sizes can’t.
Jeremy will be your Creative Coach, your Tour Guide to the wonderful world of Photography, and how YOU can enhance your work through immersion in a world of photographic possibility and potential.
3 hr workshops are £40/person as introduction rate, or £65/day. Dates and times to be arranged with participants. Saturdays preferred, but occasional weekday slots available TBA with group.
